We were planing to head over to bike week this weekend. I'm new here in FL ( that's why I bought my 2009 fatty) and after talking to a local bike shop they were telling me that they like to give out tickets over there for loud pipes!! Anyone have a more info or has been there before about that. I have V&H shorts on there now!

DO NOT blip your throttle or be a jerk when riding. Leo are very forgiving but can't stand someone who shows off their pipes. Just be cool and everything will be ok. I've been around there since the 60's and never got a ticket.

 

I'm jealous that you get to hit it this year and I'm going to miss out! Like miami said, stay chill and dont draw attention to yourself. the 5-0 down there are very proffessional for the most part and really put up with alot during bike week, but someone being obnoxious with their pipes, will usually earn em a ticket. Have a blast and ride safe!

I have not had a problem with my V&H Shorty's and like previous posts dont run the throttle just for attention. Where the cops will be standing is usually in areas where you will be going really slow anyway. They just want to keep things moving and safe.

 

Been there many times and never had a problem with LE. Be aware that last year on my way back into town on Rt. 1 at about midnight I passed two DUI checkpoints. Your pipes will have to be awful loud to really attract attention in Daytona. Like others said don't be a dick and you'll be OK. Have fun.

Yup, I am in Daytona and live on the A1A.
I can tell you that folks are already starting to arrive, the Loop traffic has picked up, all of the shops on Main Street are already open for business and event tents are up/being put up!
It's Started!

 

Im heading down tomorrow to pick up my bike from New Symrna! I cant wait!
