Default cheap console pouch

hey guys, i was pissed that HD gets $100 for console panel with pouch, did a little looking around, just wanted to share a quick mod. took off my tank panel and bolted up HD part# 45789-92, they call it a padlock pouch for $30. used some flat panel bolts that are flush, looks great, nice and big, cheers, also covered up a few holes i had drilled prematurely

That looks really good. Are you gonna glue felt to the back to keep screws from scratching the tank?

Nicely done. Looks great. Definatley put some felt on the back to protect the tank.

Don't let a HD rep see this. The price of that pouch will go up to $75!

i just put a couple strips of gorilla tape along the back. strong stuff, if you havent tried it. the way the panel is made they roll the edge to the back, thus making bolts not even touch the tank, but always better safe, pouch looks better than i could imagine on the bike

There are some really good contact glues U might have used instead of the bolts.

I used glue to hold the leather dash insert I made and all my fringe on, just make sure it not water based type so if it gets wet it wont come loose.
