anyone ever run into this prob, when im on my rocker and since im not the most lightwieght dude if you now what i mean i catch to much of my arms and shoulders in the mirror when riding. wonder if i could find a set of mirrors that stick out a little farther so my arms dont get in the view. and yes i am currently working on some wieght loss, a result of stopping smoking.
I had the same problem. I cured mine by buying extensions (2") that the HD dealer sells and that brought my mirrors up high enough to see quite a bit over my shoulders. That and I put some small adjustable spot mirrors that I bought at Harbor Freight cheap and put them where I still see my shoulder in the mirrors. My son took care of the same problem by buying the extended Golden Winged Eagle mirrors that HD sells. I would have done that but I didn't want to get rid of my Willie-G mirrors that match the rest of the theme on my bike.
I went with the Russ Wernimont Design ones in black (RWD-50046B)
They are way better than the stock ones. What a difference!
Now I can actually see what's on the sides of me and slightly behind me before I make any lane changes.
The mirror frame is about the same size as my stock Fat Boy Lo ones are. They sit low but reach out a little farther like Misbehaven's in the pic above so they do what the mirrors were ment to do without being tall or too large in size.
