RE: 07 hp ?
Well, you'd need to be a swami to know what went wrong, but my guess is that he got a bad tuning job and/or wrong map loaded for his setup (pig-rich A/F ratio?). As far as "less than stock" is concerned, nearly every bone-stock '07 I've seen dynoed has been in the mid-60s rwhp, so his hp isn't less than stock, but it's certainly not what he should be seeing with his mods (72-75 rwhp on average).
Damn that kind of sucks. I had my TC88 tuned to make 72Hp and 74 Ft lbs Tq. Hes got me in the torque department but I've got him in the HP catagory. I would think that 8 more cubic inches would make a bigger improvement over a TC88 then whats been showing up around here.
A 96 is a stroked 88, so would would expect a larger % of torque gainover % of hp gain. Which in most riding situations torque is more valueble than hp. I think once you let them breathe it lessen that difference a little.

This makes perfect sense to me. FWIW, with Rush slip-on mufflers and a SE intake, my bike's hp output jumped to 73 rwhp. I haven't gotten it redynoed since I installed the Samson exhaust system, but I suspect it will be even more improved. It doesn't take much work to get good numbers from the 96ers.
Had mine dynoed. Big Sucker, Mikuni HSR42 and SEII slip-ons.
73hp with 82tq. Good bang for the buck I would think. I have my
dyno sheet in my photo gallery if you want to take a peek.
If the dyno was done right they always do a base line up front to know exactly what the stock numbers are. Then you do the mods and start the tuning. Its unusual to have it done right and not have at least three dyno runs to get the best results.
The TQ number sounds close to what it should be but the HP makes no sense. They need to run it again and see if the result is the same and reset the FI.
