A couple of weeks or so ago I asked for help with my 08 fatboy. The bike began running rough and felt like it was running on 1 cylinder. I got a few suggestions from some of the good people on this forum and appreciated that very much. Any way I broke down and took it to the dealer. The problems were the fuel injectors and the ecm both had to be replaced. Problems with the injectors were mainly caused from sitting up so long by the previous owner (that won't be a problem now), but I stiill don't get the ecm. Anyway I was presented with a $950 bill and to reflash the ecm for my exhaust was gonna be another $205. Fred, the service mgr. said let me check on something. After tinkering with the computer a few minutes, he said your bike qualifies for assistance from the federal gov. to maintain emissions standards, refigured my bill and got it down to $550 including a service and the reflash. The dealer was Eastern Shore HD in Daphne, AL and I was extremely happy with their service and the savings of several hundred dollars, so if you guys need a dealer in the South Alabama area, I highly recommend them.

OK...how do we divy this up? So that's $400 ...how many ways?
Chit, heck YES,, I wonder if the GOV will cover 1/2 my bill when I change pipes, A/C, and cams.!...
I mean its all about Emissions Ain't it....
OK Really glad to hear a good report from a dealer,, I've had good experiences almost every time I use them.. unlike some who have had a lot of bad ones.
Gov't didn't pick up any of the billw when I worked for Ford. It was covered by the emissions law and Ford was required to pay the bill. So the next new Harley you buy will have a small % of the reflash on it.
