Default Big radius Baffles

Hi guys, I have a 2012 Fatboy lo with VH big radius 2 into 2 pipes. I pulled the baffles and cut them down to ~5 inches. took it out for a ride and really noticed no difference in sound but big difference in how it ran. LIKE ****! The motor was surging really bad then when I give it gas it sounded like it was going to die but never did. Luckily I was not far from home and did make it back. Does anyone know, do you have to remap the fuel pack for cut down baffles and does anyone know where and how much replacement baffles are. I am really pissed that I bought these pipes. I personally think they sound like **** not to step on anyones toes. To each his own but I am just not happy with them. I want new baffles then gonna see if I can sell them to get something else. Thanks in advance

If you dont like the BRs but do want a 2-2 system, try the Vance and Hines Straighshots. They are not as loud and have a deeper tone to them. I have had both and like the sound of the straighshots a lot more.

You should be able to run without baffles and not notice any of the problems you are describing. I wouldn't think you would have to remap it just because you cut the baffles.

Default Big Radius

Thanks for your input guys. I have the baffles out and remapped. Now it wont start. I only have 49 modes for a no baffles mapping. The fuel pack has 57 modes and some of those modes have values entered. Do any of you know if the modes not used for my bike what they should be set to? Thanks again

did you try the v&h website? they have all of the values on it. I have to agree that you should not have to remap w/o baffles though. good luck, Mike

Usually the lower modes are for idle. If you have the first 49 like what is listed on the website then the bike should start just fine. I know of two instances where a fuel pack took a crap. If you are only running the pipes and no high flow intake then you really don't need a fuel programmer. I have to agree with you on the sound of the Big Radius pipes. I had a set on my last bike and couldn't stand the sound. They make your bike sound more like a race car with open headers than a Harley Davidson.

Thats weird, I have the same pipes and cut my baffles in 1/2 with no issues at all. Plus it sounds great, def better than it with full baffles.
