I purchased the Demon lowering kit and installed it last night. Used my floor jack and truck to compress the shock. All went well, I am not sure how this bolt is suppose to work, it didn't seem any longer than the stock bolt that was removed. It did, however, lower the bike about 1" Has anyone else used this kit? It's supose to drop the bike 2" I wonder if I am missing something? The nut on the front wheel side has no visiable threads left, so I assume am all the way out, I am suppose to have nuts sandwiching the rubber mounts and bushing, right?
I am not sure about the Demon kit, I got lowering bolts off ebay for 17.00 and they allowed me to lower my bike alot more than your pics. I am sure I got all of the 2" that was claimed and I still have some shock travel left and feels no different unless I hit a huge pothole. Nothing like a hardtail and alot cheaper than some of the alternatives and you can still change the tranny fluid without dissasembling the suspension.
You've got it adjusted all the way out, so you're as low as those bolts will take you. Yeah, you sammich the rubber mounts & bushings. Just make sure they're seated all the way. 2" ain't much, so you're ride won't really suffer. Mine's just fine. You may bottom out on a large pot hole, but that's about it. 2-up's another story, but still not terrible.
I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and get the 422's if I want to go lower than these Demon's or another set from eBay. It was a fun project, did the job in about 1.5 hours most of which I was trying to get the rear bolts lose. The 422's should be a piece of cake.

Now, this is just me, but there's no way I'd spend $400 on 422s to get the same 2 inches I got with just the $16 ebay bolts. I'd put that money (and I am) towards Shotgun shocks. You still have to crawl under your bike to adjust the height of the 422s.

Ummm ok. I purchsed bolts off of ebay for $17.00 and they got my bike down 2" but I raised it up 1/4". If you think 422's are the cat's meow then by all means go for it. I think they are a waste of money. A shot of mine after lowering it 1 3/4" with a set of $17.00 bolts.

Don't you have to remove air shocks every time you want to drain the transimission?

I thought I was suppose to purchase $100 in doodads a week anyway, looks like I can take care of a whole month with one purchase.
