Default Saddle Bag Recommendations?

Would you Guys give me some advice for saddlebags for my 2011 Fatboy. I have the detachable backrest with luggage rack and thought that'd be enough but it's not. I want them to be detachable and compatible with my backrest. I have lower pipes now so I can go with larger than HD bags. My biggest reason for not getting bags earlier is I really hate the look of the docking points, so the better looking here, the better. Thanks!

Leatherworks bags are awesome, had a throw over set since 2000 and just bought the brackets and docking hardware to make them detachable on my 12 Lo. Very easy and good bags.

Leatherpos.com makes awesome detachable bags! They will work with your detachable backrest and the hardware when they're off is not very noticeable. Whatever bag you get you may have to relocate your signals. I changed mine to a front style of housing and bolted them directly to the strut.

Default Leatherworks Motorcycle Saddlebags

I recommend The Leatherworks Motorcycle Saddlebags. An Option that we are now just putting on the web site is to offer for $29.95 extra is to switch out the standard Indian Head Nickels with a Custom Concho Option. See attached Custom Conchos we offer and let me know if you are interested.

You will also want to get the Easy Brackets Bolt-on Saddlebag Systems and their Turn Signal Relo Kits near the bottom of the page at

There is a video of how to mount onto a Fat Boy the Easy Brackets onto The Leatherworks Saddlebags at:

Thanks for the kind words! I just thought I would drop a note here that we made a bracket change over the winter and we now have NO conflicts with the rear signals on Softails. They will now work with the stock signals or the short stem relo kit Harley makes you use when you put on a detachable backrest No turn signal relocation needed now to mount our bags.

Keep ridin'
