I got a delivery today, my Covington Cycle chrome finned panhead covers and the RSD finned camcover, also go the Debrix centre stand that Socal Yankee put me onto.
Question is for the more mechanically minded amongst you... Is it possible to remove my twincam valvecovers without removing my fuel tank?, guess I'm going to need some new gaskets too.
Hot dayum...more toyz! Those are some pricey valve covers brother. Definately want to see em on your scoot. I've always yanked the tank when it came time pull the VC's...but then again, I aint the guru either.
its your paint, do what ya want. I always take the tank off, more room better visability, and ZERO chance of scratching, denting or any other issues, and I use the rocker box wrenches, and all other tools, needed for removal. again, your paint
I just went and looked at those boxes and they are two piece, so you have to remove the upper and lower stock boxes, which also means the rocker assy must be removed, you will not do this with the tank in place, it will have to be removed
Hell, you learn something new everyday. I never knew Harley had valve covers. I always thought they were rocker boxes and rocker box covers. But like has been said you have to remove the rocker box cover then remove the rocker assembly and then the rocker box. So, yeah you need to get the tank out of your way.

they do cover the valves!!! but, you are right, and I knew what he meant
Thanks for the input guys, that settles it then, I'm not doin it, I'll get the indy to do it, these covers are a serious piece of kit, solid billet, not like the steel ones that are available, worth $800 for 2 covers? probably not but so very different I had to have them!, the RSD cam cover has had me droolin for months, I might just go the whole way and finally get him to fit my Labriola setup wile he's at it, I've only had it 6 months...LOL
