Default Lifting this 2012 Fatboy? Motorcycle jack...

Guys... my nephew just bought a 2012 Fatboy... he wanted to clean it last night so I went to lift it with my bike lift (much like the Sears model) and it looks like the shocks are just a little bit lower than the frame. Is this normal? If so are you guys using some sort of adapater to avoid lifting it on the shocks? Never had this issue with my 03 FXST or any of my touring bikes so I thought I would ask the ST pros'... thanks in advance!

i have the sears jack. what i did was, cut a center section out of the rubber on the lift rail where the shocks would make contact. as it turns out, there are little nubs on the rubber pad that hold it in place and i can take it out and put it back in and you can barely tell where i cut the rubber. use a fresh sharp razor blade or utility knife blade and just take out about 4- 5" or so.

That is not a bad idea Froggy. I tried using a a 2x4 ripped and tapped onto the rails for my friends Victory as there was something that cleared the bottom rails. He also has V&H br2x2 knock offs from the dealership and they have no o2 sensors but just bungs on his 2007. I say knock-offs becuz they look just like them but there is no joint just the long one piece heat shield.

I agree, but for stability, I'd to the rubber-cutting-section thing so you have a wider 4-point contact..

(I say this, but doubt I'll bother to cut mine, haha)

Thanks! This sounds like the best idea as I use this lift for my Street Glide also and this mod wouldnt hinder the jack for my use. Thanks guys!
