Default Springers lowered???

I am curious to see if anyone has had experience with lowering a Springer? I know Burly (and others) make a kit to lower Springers 1.5", but ...How does it affect 2up riding? Can you really get 1.5" lower? Do you have to change the shock? Also, concerning lowering the rear of 2005 Softails, most kits reccommend lowering no more than 1.25". Can you go lower? Thanks, AJ

Are you talking about lowering the rear of the Softail, or is this a kit that somehow lowers the front end?

Well you know how the springer reacts now it gets worse and it will bottom out more often. Due to the design you need the travel. I like the look of a springer but not the handling, more to the effect the braking aspect, this gets worse with the kit. I have done several of these kits I have one switched back as you loose the travel and the ride quality is not as good as stock.
