Default Lower a Springer - rockers or springs???

Have a 2005 Classic Springer and want to lower the front to match the rear stance (using 422's). I know my options are either KT Components rockers or Burly Springs... both drop it about 1.25", with price points going to Burly by being about $100 cheaper. Question is, what are you guys using and why did you choose that route??? I know the front will feel heavier and travel will be reduced slightly.

Thanks,
MZ

I ran the Burly kit. Drops 1.5". Steering went from heavy to light. Don't really notice a decrease in travel but I'm sure there is. I heard that changing the rockers is the way to go but I haven't actually seen anyone that's done it other than a guy I found online that was running a sidecar.
I'm a cheap bastard so that was my deciding factor. I like the way it looks and it rides much better than without lowering it with the 21 on there.

Lowering springs will decrease trail; lowering with rockers will really decrease trail. You need to know your current number before you can make an informed decision.

I've ridden one with the lowered rockers and in the corners it would chatter. Didn't like it one bit. Spooky to say the least, but the owner rode it like he stole it and didn't seem to mind.

If you lower the front end on a Classic, watch the acorn nuts above the fender. They have been known to slam the fender on large bumps causing damage and lots of heartache...
