Default Plastic Dip Spray question

Hello all and thanks for all the great tips and suggestions that have been provided on here.

Been experimenting with the plastic dip spray on the wife's bike. She has a '03 Hugger. She had the chrome batter cover since the day she bought the bike. Recently we took it off to remove the emblem that she had mounted on it. (***** G Skull) It left a pitted outline of the emblem in the chrome. OK, no problem I figure, this is the opportunity to test out the Plastic Dip spray as she prefers black to chrome anyway.

So I scuff up the cover and paint away. Looks pretty good except for the piece of crap that landed on it and got stuck in the paint. Again, no prob, just peal off the plastic dip and respray. Came out great and looks good.

Now the question, if she mounts a stick on emblem to this, will it just peel the plastic dip and fall off? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks all

It just might not sure man give it a try. I had no luck with that stuff. Tried two cans off it but could never get a good cover.

first thing you didn't have to scuff anything to plastidip it....thats the beauty of it. You can go back to your stock part by peeling it off. I did my chrome console and my air intake with the stuff along with my helmet.

I think if you stick something on there it should be fine. It really takes some effort to get it to peel off assuming you did like 5-6 coats. Also if you find it peels off too easily I believe they make an adhesion promoter

yeah i used it on some pivot bolt covers and it was a pain in the ***. it looks awesome when done, but if you have any bolts or screw type things it can be a pain. if you get the plasti in the threaded areas it just twists when you put the bolt in and screws up the plasti

I used it on an old beat up dash cover. It turned out nice but if any gas splashes on it, it eats if off in that area.

You have a pic of your brain bucket with the stuff on it? Also where do you buy the stuff?

Did my lowers in plastidip, dont have the updated pick yet,but it looks awsome and seems to be holding up well,if you scratch it,just respray around the scratch and it looks fine. I believe it was about $8.00 a can at Menards,in the paint section...

You can re-spray. When you get home. Don't think I want to be on a long ride or on my way to Laconia and have half a blacked out fork leg on my ride.
