Question Seat Mod. Question?

Has anyone out there try or did modify their seats themselves? Was willing to try to do it myself by adding gel and better foam. Any advice or help on how you did it...Thanks...

If your not a pro, I wouldn't bother.
I'm sure it can be done, but why trouble yourself unless you know what you're doing?

Mean City Cycles is one of the best at this.
Quick turnaround, great customer service and very reasonable pricing.

I think my seat was less than $100 and I had it back within a week.

If you are going to make it the same basic size and reuse the original cover it is really easy. Just remove the rivets or staples from the seat pan on bottom. Remove the cover and remove the foam you can then trim down the foam with an electric carving knife like you use on a turkey just dont tell the old lady. Then put your gel insert in the trimmed out area with some spray adhesive to hold it in place then put cover back on and staple or rivet back together I have done a couple in the past not too hard. Now if you are changing the size and shape of the foam then take it to an upholstry shop and have them recover it when done not really expensive unless you get an exotic material for cover. Any local upholsterer can put it together you dont need a fancy $300.00 plus seat builder.
