Default Confused over HD letters

Apologies for yet another post on this subject!

My VIN says my new ride is a 2006 FLSTNI -- every one of these I see online is a Softail Deluxe - yet mine is a Heritage.

Since mine is an export model that arrived here via Japan was the lettering system different for export models?

I ask because my manual doesn't correspond with my bike in certain areas which concerns me when I am wrenching.

Saddlebags are Heritage style, mounting is there for a windshield, but no sissy bar and the front fender says Heritage

Thanks for any help on this.

If the bike you are referring to is the one in the pic thats not an 06 flstn the i in flstni is for fuel injection over a carbed model . I have seen many times the flstn designation as the deluxe and heritage nostalgia I have on 07 flstn and a friend with an 06 flstn both look almost identical with the exception of the engine size and coil cover. I would check both vin numbers and see if they matched up

Tough call. If the photo is correct everything points to a Heritage Classic FLSTCI. The rear fender light bar is the Heritage style as is the fender skirt on the front fender and the fender badging. Saddle bags, rider seat, passenger pillion and low rise ape hanger style handle bar all point to a Heritage Classic. The model designation for the Heritage Classic Injected is FL(touring style front end verses sport style (FX)), ST (softail), C (classic), I (fuel injection). I would contact the factory as to the export letters. Maybe Japan calls them differently.
