I've seen plenty of examples on the internet of Springers with powder coated springs. As I am rebuilding my Crossbones, I gave this some consideration. However, taking a close look at the springs I began to wonder if there would be an issue at the top and bottom most portion of the springs where the coils actually touch each other. Wondering if this would cause the coating to wear away. Also, I've never had the springs off nor have I seen a set of spring off the bike so don't know if the coils spread all the way along the length of the spring in order to allow the coating to get into those areas properly.
