Could a passenger seat fit on it if one wanted (had) to?
So I have a general question regarding the stock bar/ risers combo on springers with rubber insulated risers.
I nust rode my wifes x- bones for the second time ever today and needed the adjust the left mirror.
Couldn't get it where I wanted, so I kept forcing it. This while I was riding. And I noticed the bars and the risers moved a bit. Not a lot. Just a 1/4" max and sprung back to normal when I released the mirror.
that normal?
I could definitely fit a pillion on it! I'm working on a Sissy bar set up. I have a big army rucksack I want to be able to strap to the back. So I'm trying to figure out how to make a clean detachable. The bar movement you speak of is intentional. They put rubber bushings in the risers to dampen vibrations from the front end so no worries haha. I can understand your concern! I looked it up the minute I rolled mine off the back of the truck and thought what the hell just loosened up haha. Now I have a question for you guys! I'm at 8k and change and have a little front end bounce. Tire pressures good everything seems to torque up front. I'm running Michelin commander 2's. Have you had any of this with your wife's bike? Thanks Splat!

Yes, minor movement is normal. However, I noticed mine got a bit too squishy after a while.
I switched to the solid mounted Wild1 risers. Much more stable.

Speaking of risers! Does anyone know of a set that will narrow up the clamp width?! I've seen sets for old Harley's for ungodly money and not even sure if they'd fit anyways. It sucks we don't have as many options with this riser setup! ANY help would be hugely appreciated!!!

Tank you both for putting me at ease. When I asked my wife if she noticed flexing, she looked at me all dumbfounded. How I felt when I noticed them flexing LOL. I was like, noooo! What did I do to her bike. Figured the rubber bushings had to be it. But thanks!
As for "bounce" first thing that came to mind was out of ballance tire/ wheel. As tires age. This can happen.
Hit any potholes lately? Do you have any loose spokes?
Likely not related specifically to a Springer front end. Perhaps the tire just developed a flat spot.
Have it balanced if it worries you.
The wheels straight no potholes spokes are the first thing I checked. Had a couple lose ones on the rear tire. I'm following the pressure spec on the tire not the bike itself that helped the bounce ALOT. I think it may just be a not so great tire! It only happens are 55 on decel.

I only ever really notice the movement when I'm moving the bike around the shop. All 800lbs gets it flexing a little haha. I think it's a combo of things with the tire between balancing and it might be my fault. For the first few thousand I was following the pressure spec of the bike but the tire spec is 6lbs more than the bike calls for. That helped immensely but I may have damaged the tire. I'll ride it for the rest of the season. I should still get my front end serviced I think! Don't wanna do that myself even with the manuals it's a little sketchy haha.
