Default Primary leak?

Looks like I've got a very slight leak between the inner and outer primary on the bottom side. Anybody had success with just tightening the bolts or is it pretty much a given that a new gasket must be installed?

If you're sure it isn't coming from somewhere else, like the drain plug or migrating from behind, that would be my solution. And spend the $30 on a H-D gasket-I've tried the cheap ones.

I thought the same thing on mine. It was the output shaft seal though. It dripped right off the back corner ever so slowly onto the driveway.

I thought I needed a new gasket, turned out the inner primary had a small crack. Thank god it was still under warranty!

With your bike being an '05, I would replace the inner primary seals too. The starter seal tends to leak and drip down. Make sure to get the redesigned starter seal, it has small springs on both sides to stop the leaking.
