40mph wobble
So... has anyone figured out the 40mph wobble yet? I have read that many people experience it. Some say it is from cupped tires, some say it is from lose spokes. Neither of those apply to me. My tires were new and I don't have spokes. But at 40 mph my front end gets a noticeable wobble such that I wouldn't want to turn loose of the handlebars.

I had the wobble last year. Over winter, I installed a shotgun shock, ricor intiminators, and new bars. I have no wobble this year. Not sure which one did it but, its gone. Hope this helps. I'd try to tighten up your rear shocks and try that. I dunno.
Mine did that as well last year and it was the steering bearings. IF you don't have a manual yet you should get one. But I can send you the pages from mine if you want them.. Just shoot me a PM with your e-mail address & I'll send those pages along!!
Yep. I bought my Heritage from a guy who listed that as one of the problems the bike had. I got it home and tightened the steering bearings and no more wobble in the last 12,000 miles.

could be neck bearings, or a defective piece of rubber.
When I bought my Lo (new) it would wobble like hell over 40.... Dealer checked:
neck bearings.. good
ordered new front wheel... good
replaced tire... That was it.
Now, 6500 miles later I got a wobble on decel between 50-40.
neck bearings... That was it.
Just shows, check that junk out!!!

Be sure to check your air pressure too...
Several times, when my tires were low - I got the death wobble on the highway.
added air, and it went away. Unfortunately, my tire became cupped from running it with too little pressure...
just my two cents, hope it helps.
