Post back and let us know what they say , Im thinking maybe a tuning issue . Should be pulling hard at 4000

Got my 1k done today (syn3) and they found the problem with the rattling engine. "Headlamp backing plate rattling on the lower triple tree" Took it for a ride tonight and issue solved.

Is this your first Harley? I'm not trying to over simplify this, but one thought is that you're just not used to the noises these things make. You should get things checked out if you think something is wrong, but there are some weird noises that come out of these things if you're used to a jap bike.



edit: lol, sry, didn't catch that last post. Glad to hear you got it figured out.

I also have a 2012 due for the 1k service. Takin mine in Saturday morn. Mine also has a rattle at about the same rpm. Doesn't sound like spark knock, jus a tight, air cooled twin. I'm putting in a good synthetic to see if it quiets it any. I've noticed that it sounds much more pronounced with th windshield attached.
