Hello I'm new to the forum I have the new blackline was wondering if anybody has put on the new triple tree from Todds cycle is it something that requires special tools or can someone with moderate Mechanical skills pull off
Pull up a you tube video to see how to change the triple trees or how to change the springs in the front tube fork. That should give you some idea on how it's done.
Not hard to do at all, as long as you're not changing the bearing races. Basically remove front wheel, remove forks (pinch bolts and top cap), remove steering head nut and the trees will come right out. If you've got some miles on it, replacing the bearings would be a good idea while you've got it torn down. Follow instructions with new trees, reinstall forks and front tire and adjust the "fall away" and it's done. Basic tools, torque wrench, and you'll need a big socket for the steering head nut, can't remember the size.
