Default 12V plug install question....

I want to install a 12V plug on my 2008 XBones. Is there someplace I can wire it to that doesn't require hardwiring straight to the battery?

They make ones that plug into your battery tender pigtail. Like this one...and there are plenty more out there...
Amazon Amazon

O'Reillys sells one for like $6 in the trailer section that plugs into your battery tender. Thats what I use and just put it in my saddle bag so what ever I have plugged into it stays dry in case of rain.

That's what I did. Just made one that plugs into the tender lead. I just put it into my saddlebag and charge my phone in there. Works great.

Same here...just picked one up on Amazon for $5.80. I already had a 12V USB adapter that came with my daughters I-Pod Touch, which plugs right into the new Amazon power outlet. I can now charge my RazrMaxx while riding. I just run it into a saddlebag or attached travel bag. Here is a link:

Get a Electrical Connection Update Kit from your HD dealer. Plugs in under the seat and has butt splices to connect your wires. They run about $16.00.

thanks for the responses guys. I actually had seen a double port one when i was wandering through the store and bought it. I never thought about the tender lead, but I did end up mounting under the spring seat, used rubber grommets to keep a tight seal around the holes I drilled for the wires and just gave myself enough wire to move the seat pan without disconnecting it, I may just have to go find the plug itself for the lead later. That would be so much easier than having to disconnect the battery every time I need to do anything that requires removing the seat pan completely.
