Rear shock - rebound / float
My '10 Heritage rear suspension feels like it has a slightly delayed reaction returning to the pavement after going over a bump. This isn't as noticeable driving around town as on a highway or interstate. The suspension is 100% stock and adjusted by the dealer to my weight (solo).
The delay time (or float time) is extremely small - tho still noticeable compared to my previous '06 Dyna. It's as if the tire speed doesn't quite match the ground speed and there is a very slight jolt when the tire makes contact. This occurs at steady throttle. I don't want to over-exaggerate, it's not as if the bike is uncomfortable or the ride is harsh. But I'm all about comfort these days and you do notice it.
The bike has barely over 8000 miles. Has anyone else come across this? If so, any solutions? Is this a problem with the rear shocks? Or is it a characteristic of how softails ride?
