I'm sorry to hear your having problems. But I am dumbfounded that a dealership had your bike for a month and still have not fixed the problem. I would demand refund of what ever you spent with that dealer on pain of naming and shaming or possibly legal action if they cannot fix your problem. I would also call, email and postal mail HDHQ and the better business bureau and describe your issue, the time the bike was at the dealer and the monies spent.
With the premium people spend at certified HD shops this kind of nonsense should not be tolerated. Scream your head off and cause trouble and DON'T SETTLE.

lol the bad part is the bike was under warranty when all this started. about two months after i got the bike back it was out of warranty. when i contacted the harley shop they said there was nothing they could do about it. i also contacted harley customer service and same thing. come to find out the harley shop never did the paper work so there isnt any record of speedo problems. better yet they put the new speedo in and never got mileage set to what was on the bike so now thats all messed up. its been a head ache but i still love my bike when it runs right. thanks again for the help i will try to dig into it today.

To me this sounds like a dishonest dealer. The speedo remark, that sounds like odometer tampering, might want to consider that angle as leverage. Looking at my wiring diagram, the components in the system you didn't mention that could have an effect yet are the ignition switch, but one common to both is the TSSM.

i tried that with harley and they said it wasnt there problem so i guess ill just have to keep the bike or do alot of explaining when i sell it. i know this is asking alot but is there any way i could get a pic of the wiring diagram?? the bad part is the dealer took the new speedo off a bike they had on the showroom floor and i have no idea what they put back in that bike to sell it. im not trying to bad mouth them i just dont go back there any more. ive bought alot of stuff from them two brand new bikes and all my parts. just kind of a bummer.
well now to sound like a idiot. ive been fighting westnile and decided to look at the bike today. after looking at the battery thinking these cables dont look right i took my dads seat of his bike. he has a 03 deuce as well. come to find out his bike has a spacer on the battery to get the cables out a lil ways. mine does not have any so my seat puts alot of pressure on the negative. am i on to something??? thanks guys

Can't hurt to try. My 01 deuce doesn't have spacers, no issues. Ignition switch could be the culprit. Easy to replace and if you have your key code the factory can key the new one to match
If you are running it without spacers that could cause an issue. With the vibrations, you could be losing contact on the ground or positive and causing connection issues. The angle the wires come in need the spacers. I would start there 1st.

ill be going to the harley shop in the morning to pick up a set pending how i feel. i never knew there was a spacer till i looked at dads. where did mine go?? lol i would be so happy if that was the problem. but why the harley shop didnt catch that??
