Default Greasing the Chassis

I'm a newbie. Lets get that out of the way.

How do you lube the swingarm on your softail and with what? Went on a wild goose chase down a dirt logging road through some bad advice. Washed the Fat Boy as soon I was home. Now the rear squeaks like an old rusty bed.

Appreciate if i get pointed to the right thread if there is one.

more than likely its the rubber shocks bushings that doing it.

Spray some silicone on the bushings where they go through the fame underneath and see if that helps.

Another little point I''ll give U is I Never use a High pressure spray on the bike.. PERIOD..

High pressure water has a way to get into bearings and Electrical parts all over Ur bike and really play Havoc on her.

there is no grease fitting for the swingarm. The bearing are "lifetime" according to HD.

Thanks Octo & NiteTrain. I just logged to see what was said before heading to the store. No grease Zert is good to know, I was looking. It's got an Air ride set up. Brand not known. I laid on the ground and raised and lowered it a few times and it sounds like it's just the shock pivot points. And no pressure washing. Dully noted.

no problem. I try to go out of my way to avoid dirt roads, buts thats only because belts are expensive and they don't appreciate rocks being stuck between them and the pulley

This has happened on several of my past Harleys and it turned out to be dust and dirt on the drive belt. My local dealer suggested I wash the belts with warm soapy water. Thie resolved the squeeking issue.

I used some Mr. Wrench silicon spray and it took the sqeak out of the shock linkage immediately. I'll take a look at that belt, good to know.
