That's a new one on me. Don't think I have ever head any Metric bike that sounded "better" thanmy Custom, or even more like a Harley.
I wonder if that bike had a more open exhaust system then yours does. Could be thatyou just need to open up the baffels a little bit more for more soundvolume.
As for making the oiling system work better at lower RPM's, if I understand how it works right I believe something like thatwould mean major changes in the crank case castings.
Using eitherlargerdiameter, or wider pump gears to increase the volume at lower rpm's would probably require more room than isavalable in the current production casting.
I believe that the only other way that would be practical would be to redesign the gears themselves. By making the teeth longer and the driveshaft smaller you could get more volume. But Iwould have serious questionsabout the reliability of that type of gear set.If the driveshaft is made toosmall in relation to the overall gear size it could have serious reliability andlifespan issues, especially with the vibrations that come withhigher rpm's.

If you truly want a lower idle or sound stronger like I think you are indicating, it is gonna take more than just some device to lower idle and revamp your oil pumping mechanism.
I was at the dealer a few weeks back when this guy fire up an 06 ultra and it had a lower idle and hada "special" loping sound. I asked him what he did to get that and told me a Big Bore Kit. Unfortunately, I did not ask him who made the kit. It had an awesome idle. I am considering the kit myself.

"sounded more like a Harley than my Fatboy"?
Come on! There's more to it than just making it sound like a Chevy with a Glass pack. HD has a sound all it's own and that does not change with 200 rpm. If I remember right, 900-1000 on EFI is normal at idle when warm. That RPM makes everything work well. Lower emmissions, better oiling, better cooling, better charging, better combustion.......better! Get over it.

A big bore kitwith higher compression and camwill make a huge difference. It will be louder and have that potato sound you are looking for. You can lower the idle on you FI TC88 a little but I wouldn't go below 925-950 rpm. I would also check the oil pressure before I decided to leave it that way.
