Where to start...? In the process of putting bags, sissy bar and luggage rack on my '12 Slim the tail lights and plate are moved under the fender. Used all HD parts, hardware and wiring, now the tail lights are not fully working. On the right side I get run, turn and stop if you hold the socket ever so gently and don't breathe. The left side is turn and stop. Now if you were to move either, they fire off and shut off the lights on the bike completely.
I've done voltage tests on both sockets and have power to both electrodes on both sides. I am at a loss as what to do next. If anyone has had experience with this or something similar, your input would be helpful.
Tl,dr; tail light socket firing off, lights no worky.
Oh, and once you get all the parts on. The bike looks like a heritage, that's not been bedazzled.
Fixed it, pre-terminatd end was out of form and making contact with other energised conductor. Reformed end and all is well, bought service manual to check if wiring was correct, it was.
