thanks for the reply, much appreciated

is that size availiable in a Metzler ME880

are any other mods required to fit the 160 or is it just a rim change

I feel you Rod. That 250 kit is a monster! To answer your first question, yes. The 160 is available in the Metzeler ME 880 tire. The 160 with just a wider rim should fit just fine on your stock bike without having to do any mods, but as always check check and recheck your fitment. Whenever you are ready for Stage 2, let us know so we can get you the best possible pricing!

thanks for the reply

for the first stage of htis bike we will be going with a 18 X 4.25 rim on the rear & i hope the 160 will clear

i may need to do a little more research before i pull the trigger on the tire though as i dont want it to have clearance issues when we drop it down on the bag

regards
Rod

If you get a rim with the proper hub it should bolt right up.

Default Changing rims

I have a 2007 softail deluxe. The stock rims are 16x3 with WW tires. My first question is...If I buy different rims that are 16X3.5 can I reuse my tires on the new rims? If not what size tires should I buy and do those come with the whitewall. Are they any other things (spacers, New pully, New brakes) that I would need to do if I buy 16.3.5 rims. I'm getting so many mixed opinions on this matter between different dealers. Thanks!

As long as you get wheels that are properly configured for your bike they will bolt right on. Stock rotors and pulleys will bolt on wheels that are configured properly for your bike. You can use your stock tires on a 16x3.5 rim.

Ok gents... While we're on the topic

What is the widest 21" rubber for the front?

What is the widest 19" rubber for the front

What is the widest 18" rubber for the front?

I'm trying to decide on the direction of a future springer project

Many thanks...

The only size I would run on the front of a Springer would be a 21 x 2.15, which is the stock size. The widest tire that would fit without having issues would be a 90/90-21.
