I bought mine used and put on my 05 Softail in 2010. Don't have any idea how many miles it had when I got it but I've put about 50,000 miles on since installing in just about every kind of weather imaginable. Just had it off about two weeks ago and didn't see any issuse with seams or anything else, Haven't had any problems at all. Mine are black so I can't speak to the quality of their chrome. It gave me a 10/10 increase and as others have said, it sounds great. Guess I got lucky.
I just had black TH 2-1 installed on my Fat Boy Lo and I love them! I originally was looking at the D&D but after some research here and high recommendations from my local Indy, I went with the TH and don't regret it. Love that low rumble and extra power. As for the looks, seems like they could have made a smoother transition there at the end but I'm not an engineer and maybe it needs to be that way. To me, it's lots less noticeable on the black.
I know there great in the Performance area, but, I just can't get past the looks of them..
Make's me think of Welding class back in High School..
Like someone had a Extra sheetmetal reducer laying around after making the pipes and Someone said,,, HEY, lets weld this on the end of the Muffler.
I have had TH on dyna and now the Fatboy.
Nt problems on either. I can't find a pipe that sounds better to my ear.
Finish is not as good as others, but proformance and sound wipe out that issue in my opinion.
thunderheader....love the sound. great performance. CHROME SUCKS. shields are pricey.whats up with that cone on the back? afterthought? 420 moment? LMAO.... i'd buy black.
d&d fatcat on my fatboy for 8 years..... great performance, top notch chrome, only 2 shields, baffle options....STILL LOOKS LIKE NEW.

LOL....Exactly! Oh well, the sound makes up for it!
Thanks for all the replies... So, I've gathered that the TH has good sound and performance, but not the best appearance or detail. The D&D sounds awesome, but they're hard to find.
How about the VH 2 into 1, any comments on those?
The D&D is also a good exhaust, performance is awesome. Sound is okay BUT looks like a Sportbike exhaust.
V&H exhaust = everybody has them
