I'm not sure what you mean by oil, t stone. I just got there standard replacement battery about a year and a half ago. So far so good. When I get "done" with the major mods I may spring for a newfangled battery.
I bought the Extreme MagnaPower battery from Advance Auto parts 400 CCA the Harley battery is 330 CCA? I paid $110, guy gave me a $20 dollar discount if I would buy it now. North Eastern Manufacturing in P.A. makes the Harley batteries, under the Deka name, you can buy those at O'Riellys auto parts. The Auto Zone website has $30 off if you spend $100 right now. If you google who makes Harley batteries alot of this pops up!
Interesting. Weight and size would be worth the look. Any data yet on lifespan on these? I haven't priced yet but one response was 3x the cost of a conventional. That's steep. I'd need significant life gains to justify that purchase personally.
As far as price, we discount them...but it is still about 2.5 x lead acid price.
I have only been running one for a few months. I have a couple of friends that have been running them for over 2 years...they work like new, never had a tender on them.
But the technology is new, so even the company making them has only 3 years experience.
These are Lithium Iron (nanophosphate) not the Lithium Ion that is used in cellphones, laptops and Boeing...it does not have the heat issue that Lithium Ion batt have.
The main reasons people run them is if there is a space or weight issue. Custom builds, stock bikes where you are looking for a place to put a tuner or other electrics.
I was having cranking issues after the BB install, this fixed it.

don't mean to hi-jack this thread but just out of curiosity did you have your heads done and if so did you opt for the compression releases when you did your Big Bore kit?
