Default HID Help

i got my HID light and how needing some advice on installing it. i know my problem is that i am installing it with a 5 3/4" bucket. i have a stock bucket and bullet and the ballest and all the wires won't fit in either. so i was thinking about installing the ballast under the seat and run the wires into the bucket just for the head light. but when i look for extension wires these are all i can find http://www.ebay.com/itm/HID-Extensio...cd1e17&vxp=mtr and they are just the blue and white wire. i am wondering what to do with the rest of the wires since i can't find an extension for them. any ideas on how to install this would be great.
here are pictures of the hid set up so you can see all the wires and boxes

Figure out the length you need, cut the wires between the plugs and solder in the extensions. Heat shrink the solder unions. that should do it I would think.

It might be a pain in the *** but you only have to do it once.

most of the dyna guys will either cut and solder in extensions or buy the extension kit. there are a ton of threads on it in the dyna section

I have heard that the extension wires (between the ballast and the bulb) needs to be some special wire without soldered joints due to the high voltage that travels within those two wires. I have no first-hand knowledge with that, but I would be concerned with proper shielding to avoid the arcing at the joints that these systems are capable of producing. Whatever you decide to do, please check on that issue. You may not be able to just splice, solder and heat-shrink those ballast-to-bulb wires.

The blue and white are the wires to the bulb right? Order those extensions from Ebay and extend and solder the other ones.

Dave is probably right, he usually is so might as well play it safe.

Ok I was about to type that. I was thinking order the blue and white since they aren't normal wires and then cut and extend the the 3 wires that plug into the oem headlight plug after the little black box in the picture

Did you plug everything in and try it to figure out the polarity and what not?

I had to flip a couple plugs when I set mine up to get the polarity right and the high beam function working.

Is yours a hi/lo or just a single?

It is the hi lo. Is the bulb in the in position or out on high beam?

I used the extension for the bulb on my Dyna and cut and soldered for the power wires. It worked fine.
