I guess I don't understand what you mean? You need to hook it up and try it with your hi/lo switch and you might have to switch the plugs around until it works. Different systems switch in different ways...some bikes or cars are positive switching and some are negative systems. Mine wasn't right when I first tried it but it only took a few minutes to figure it out.

You should get it working right before you start cutting and extending just to make sure everything is going to function correctly. Otherwise if it doesn't work right when you are done you will have too many variables and unknowns to root cause the problem easily.

I got the non hi lo version but I bought the blue and white extensions on ebay and soldered the black and red. On my softail I put it all in the headlight as there is plenty of room.

Motown I hooked it up and it lite up and when I flipped the hi lo the bulb went in and out like it was spose to. Since the only difference in hi and lo is the bulb placement that is what I was asking. When you flip on hi the bulb either goes in or out of the socket. That is what I was asking. Is hi further in or out?

I have to be honest I never watched it cycle outside of the housing so Im not sure but as long as its flipping when you hit your hi/lo it should be ok.

Man, just wait till you have it all in...its impressive. You just have to aim your light correctly to keep from blinding people on low beam like those douche 2F2Furious cars do...lol The width of the beam on those back roads can be a life saver if you ever ride rural....helps in the city too, damn crack heads are always running out from between parked cars!

Its a bad *** mod, it will be worth the extra work and $350 cheaper than LED witch I will put mine up against any day...

I just ordered a 36" extension. It should be here midweek. So hopefully I will have the tank back on and everything put back together by next weekend. Motown did you run a toggle switch for the headlight so you can turn it off then you start the bike? If so what wire did you cut and where did you mount it?

Yes you either need an on/off switch for the headlight or you need a timed relay. I went with an on/off toggle switch and mounted it to the back of my tree cover which you dont have. I used a 20A toggle switch from Grainger. I put the switch on the hot that goes to the head lamp plug. I have a Clymer book with a wire diagram but if you cant find one start at the plug and go backwards till you find a spot you want to splice into.

You could put a switch in your console or your coil cover or make a custom tab somewhere you can mount a switch to maybe. Shouldn't be too tough.

Ok. I am taking it you used a waterproof/weatherproof switch? I was thinking maybe about mounting the switch on the backside of the bucket. Also I would rather not cut any of the bikes wires so do you think it would be ok to cut either the ground or hot from the hid kit plug that plugs into the oem headlight plug?
