Question Progressive Monotube question...

Hey forum, shortly, I mean on order from Progressive, I will be trying to attempt to install Progressive Monotubes on my 06 FatBoy. If anyone out there ever did this on there own would be kind to give any advice or tips on doing this upgrade. I took the advice from another member and contacted Progressive twice and spoke to 2 different guys and both of them seemed to go about this install differently. One guy said I need special tools and a fork press one said nothing about the special tools or a press. I just wanted to hear first hand from members themselves on how difficult or not difficult in which I hope it's not, it was to do. I just want to be sure before I go and start this install. I know it will cost a bundle if my local guy does it. So if anyone out there is willing to give tips and any advice, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

I will be doing this install this weekend... this or the shotgun I will try to document it as much as I can. Do you hae the service manual? Just did a quick look doesn't say anything about a fork press.
I also got a quote (just to fufill my laziness if it was worht it) indy quoted me 3.5 HRs for the forks at 100 a hr. for 350 to install something that costs 287 No thanks.

Did you get all new fork seals and drain plug? make sure u do.

Not a difficult install at all. Really just time consuming with a need to almost completely disassemble the front end. The only sticky part is getting the socket screw at the bottom properly torqued. I just applied pressure from the top and took my time........Maybe someone else has better tips on this.

An air gun is a big help.

Suuie, an air gun for disassembly, yeah. For assembly and torquing, not my first choice....

Default Monotube

Progressive is a piece of work with their tech support. I called making sure I got the right part number before ordering and was given 31-2502. Went to order and the parts guy said he didn't think that was the right # so called again and was told 31-2504. Told them both I had an 2011 Fatboy Lo and wanted to keep the stock height. Guess I'll sit on it a few days and call again and take the common # on three tries. Has someone here done this mod and can give me a difinative answer?

Brent is right. Their website tells you the part number for stock and lowered. When i called i got a correct answer and they were pretty helpful.
