Default Is this normal???

i recently upgraded to a SE Race Tuner.. I noticed that when i am going to shift to the next gear (when hitting the throttle hard) I am getting alot of back fire. I called the dealer and was informed that maybe the tuner has to be twicked.. or something may have a air leak??? WHAT!!! any feedback on why this is happening would be appreciated.

..decel popping is usually a sign of an improper tune or air leaks in the exhaust (head or muffler clamps not tight enough) - or both...
what pipes are you running? the kind of exhaust system may add to it as well...

No canned map will do as good as a dyno with a SERT.

With the SERT. Best results r with the dyno. They can do a run and adjust. Otherwise the way they tune it is hook it up ride for 15 minutes and come back read the results and tune. So if they have no dyno they may ride or have you ride it bring it back to adjust if they do it that way. Ride it like u ride it.

You have to be pretty careful while riding in short shorts.
Those V&H pipes will burn your legs.

If you go the dyno route you may want to do a little research on tuners in your area. I'm not saying it is the case with your dealer or all dealers but alot of the time dealers don't have the most competent tuners. The reality is that your tune will only be as good as the guy doing your tune is.
