Default Wheel Spacers?

Having to ride here in the UK is never easy, especially when it's been so wet the last few months.

Have just had my stock profiled wheels replaced under warranty as the chrome on the hubs and around the spoke rim holess had started to lift. Was lucky enough to go behind the scences at the dealer to help out the tech with the work. The bike was in for a service as well. Being new to bikes this helped me out a lot as I will now start servicing my own bike.

I digress, I am trying to replace as much of the smaller stuff on the bike with stainless steel as I can. I want to turn up some spacers at work( have the materials and equipment) but would love to know the dimentions of the spacers for a 06 Deluxe. I have some new rotors and pads to put on in a couple of 1000 miles time, and thought I could change out the spacers then.

Anyone one have ant ideas. Don't want to strip the bike until rotor change as I use it for work every day. Also, what if any is the tollerance on the spcers?

Thanks in advance

Rob

Default RE: Wheel Spacers?

You should be able to borrow a spacer from your new friend at the dealer to get the inside and outside diameter measurments. Take those numbers andmake up a sleeve that's over length.
Then when you do take the wheel off you can either measure them, put things together and make them up to replace the old ones later. Swapping out spacers isn't a big job.
Or take the old ones in towork and cut the new sleeve down to size to be installed after you get back home, should only take a few minutes to do on alathe. You'll be out the bike for a day, but you'll get exactly what you need that way, and you'll know for sure its right.
