Default Acorn Nuts

Does anyone know where I can get some chrome acorn nuts for the stock Harley Mirrors on a 2012 Deluxe?..The problem is, they must be 5/16X24(fine thread) and also be extra deep as the mirror's threaded portion of the stem is longer than usual. Most of the places I found don't have that extra deep feature that I need. The mirror threads extend a full 5/8 out of the bottom of the lever lousing, and the stock non chrome nut has a full 7/8 inside depth..Thanks in advance...Blooz

You can also add a couple of SS washers if the stem is too long.
I did that on another bike when I relocated the turns to the forks and removed that leftover bracket...

Over the years the local ACE hardware store has been the go to place for chrome hardware. They have a huge display.

Here's another online resource. They have the 5/16"-24 chrome acorn nut but the depth is unknown.

Is it possible to reduce the length of the mirror stem so a shallower acorn nut will fit ?

Take a grinder with a thin blade and cut off some of the threads so that a regular acorn nut will fit. I'm not trying to be a smart ***, either.
