Default Heritage Handlebars

Did Harley change the bend on the Heritage bars? Seems to me that the later bikes have different handlebars than say an 05 or 06 Heritage for example. They seem to have changed the dimensions around the same time that the tank console was redesigned, at least to my eyes. I want to order up a set for my Softail but I want the earlier bend if anyone knows the part number. The current parts and accessories book shows a chrome handlebar but I am not sure if it is identical to the earlier bars or the later (current) design.

Thank you Springer!
The chrome bars in the p/a catalogue are listed as identical to the 56569-86 so that is what I want. Much thanks!

The older bars stick straight out like bull horns. Awful looking IMHO.

I agree 100%, I hated the bars on the '03.

I just bought a 2013 Heritage Softail Classic and ordered the Chrome replacement bars. The part number is 56623-99. Not sure why the disparity in part numbers. In any event, I had them installed this past Friday afternoon and had them removed, and the OEM bars re-installed, Sunday afternoon. The wrist angle is too "splayed" out for me and my wrists began to ache immediately. I sent a PM to wide glider offering them to him if he wants them, but I plan on selling them for $35 (half price) plus shipping if he doesn't want them. I haven't put them in the classifieds yet. Also got an FLSTC deep bucket Sundowner...the wife much prefers the "Touring Pillion" so it goes too. Anyway, thought I'd offer a little recent insight.

I've got the stock bars from my '93 Heritage laying around here somewhere, but I agree with Benway, they looked awful (to me anyway) & felt/handled worse.

Depending on your riding style, the older heritage bars are great. If you are shorter, shorter reach, then handles twisted in may be a better fit. I prefer handles more straight and the heritage bars are the tallest you an install on a fatboy using stock cables.

Love the stockers on my 07 (never had sore wrist) and yes it seems I remember when I sat on a 09 or 10, (thought about trading) that the newer ones was bent in and down more than mine.
