Man, I am super excited. I feel like a little kid waiting on Santa Clause (UPS man) to bring me my presents! LOL.
I ordered some Carlini 14" Gangster Apes 1.5", Carlini Piston risers, cables, brake lines, a 12" Namz wire extensions, and FINALLY a good ol' service manual!
I really hope its not to difficult of an install. I'm a bit worried, but I know I'll be able to do it.
Anyway.. not sure what the purpose of this post is, but I'm just stupidly excited. LOL
It was a miserable install for me.
TAKE DETAILED PICTURES OF HOW EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED AND ROUTED BEFORE YOU START. Keep all the items in baggies or lay them out with like items.
The turn signal connectors are pretty easy you have to take the pins out of the connectors. take a picture of the pins in the connector so you know how they go back in... and also which turn signal light goes on which side theres a label that says 123456 on it so remember that part.
I went with the namz plug and play easy peasy.
Clutch line i had to take off exhaust so that prompted me to buy another new exhaust while i had it off. Get a pair of snap ring pliers (craftmans) that have different tips, you need a little thicker ones for the trans cover. And you need the smaller one for the levers to take the snap ring to let the lever come out. The smaller ones on the lever FLY when you release them i managed to save one but it was bent couldn't find the other so i jsut bought a new set.
My 16" Gangsters are being put on as we speak. The only thing is I got the 16" and I am wondering if I would have rather had the 14" bars. I guess I will find out soon enough. Pictures please when completed. I never get tired of looking at those bars on a sweet, clean bike. I too can't wait for that 1st ride with everything finally done on the Ol girl. This is going to be my very 1st experience with Apes, I hope it's a good one.
Getting Cyclesmiths 13's on my Ultra as we speak ( write). Had 14's on my Roadking...loved them! You will like them alot. I have a guy doing the work and he is high rated. Cost me some coin but I will be riding sooner than if I tried myself with the bike on a kick stand only..

Good luck.
You are the man! Thanks so much for the help. I am TERRIBLE at forgetting how to put stuff back together, so I'll definitely have to take lots of pictures and label everything.
I'll post up some pictures once I have everything done. I have to wait for all the parts to arrive and the service manual.. so hopefully I should be able to start the install by next weekend.
Does anyone know for sure wether or not I would need to buy some polyurethane riser bushings? Won't the stock riser bushings be to soft and have to much flex in the bars?
