HD security hack
Buddy of mines SG was stolen last night while he was in a bait shop getting some stuff. His fob was on him as always but apparently HD security can be hacked in less than 10 secs, youtube clip is out there telling you how. They got footage of the guy walking up to his bike, put on his helmet and doing the hack, literally took the guy secs to do and he was off on the bike. I am not sure if someone has already addressed this or not but just wanted to post a friendly FYI to change your codes, if you even can, or always lock the bike. I am as guilty as anyone to not lock my bike when im just running in somewhere or hell even going to work lol. Its just messed up to drop the extra $2k or more for that package and in 10 secs it doesnt matter what you spent.

Lots of people never chane the security code from the factory settings. From the factory, they are all the same. As a crook, if you know that one code it will get you onto lots of bkes. I always hange mine.
This might be a good place to ask this question of some experienced HD riders. I have been interested in increasing security on my bike, looking into bag security mostly on the other threads, and I started wondering. . How many types of HD keys are there? can a criminal carry a couple keys, or a handful, and open the fork lock? Has anybody cable or bar locked the front wheel when staying over night at a hotel or whatever? Who has good ideas out there?
It's always a good thing to lock the fork too. Another local I know was parked outside the dealership under a security camera. Someone sat on his bike, straightened out the wheel, and then never properly placed it back on the kickstand. His bike tipped over as a result. The dealership then pulled up the feed, identified the person, and then contacted him. The owner's bike did get fixed, now he locks his bike, and doesn't park next to the door.
My dealer walked me through a code change before the bike left the shop. I always use my ignition and fork lock along with a heavy duty 35mm cable lock secured to a permanent structure when parked for longer periods. Last but not least good Insurance fully paid.

I know nothing about the remote security feature. I always thought that it just didn't work, because even after activating I could always start my bike.
Then I read that if the FOB is near the bike it will automatically disable the alarm. So that's why it seemed to never work! lol

I lock the forks and ignition all the time, even in my garage. My bf and other friends think I'm nuts but I don't care. It takes a second to lock the bike and a second for somebody to steal it.
