Default Adjusing shocks-05 heritage

With the lock nut backed as far as it will go and the adjuster plate then backed against the lock nut, what setting is this-softest or stiffest.

With the plate adjusted back to the loosened nut, that will be the softest. I have my Heritage set to the stiffest setting, which is the best for me overall.

search the forum for "shock adjustment" and you will find not only countless threads on the subject, but also an average guy's adjustment procedure.

Also, welcome to the forum.

I thought that was the stiffest position. Shorter shock equals taller bike, longer shock equals shorter bike. Maybe I"m confused.

Backed to the lock nut is the stiffest setting.
