You can save a few dollars... do a free curved laydown plate by bending the stock bracket (fold the part that bolts to the fender- and do away with the top support), and bend a curve into you license plate and frame if you use one.
I have a softbrake under the taillight mount. There are a lot of different options available for this. If you do the softbrake relocator you have to find something to cover up the 3 holes left in the fender from the stock mounting. Harley sells chrome plugs for this purpose. http://www.softbrake.com/
