I am not impressed with the klockwerks shield. I rode about 50 miles today so far and still get the under shield buffeting as I did with my HD nostalgia shield. It may be slightly less but my goatee is in my mouth none the less. Did knock down the head buffeting a bit though and that's nice.

Redmosquito, you had the same thoughts I did on the klockwerks plus it Looks weird and no advantage I could find. Put my stock HD windshield back on. Can't go wrong with the HD shield and I've used others including the Memphis Shades. I just bought the tallest and cut it down to below eye level. As for buffeting under the shield it's there and you need the fork wind deflectors to stop it. I had some earlier deflectors that didn't fit on my new Fatboy so just bolted them to the windshield mounts so now it's a quick connect system cause they both come off together. Don't really need one without the other.
Its the tall one, I'd have to measure it but I want to say 18" maybe. I'm 5'9" and I look through the top of it, woulda went with the shorter one but didn't know it was an option till after I ordered.
It actually is a really good shield but I bought it hoping it would stop the updraft and it just doesn't. I have the fangs and I am going to play around with making them quick detach so when I run the shield I can quickly put them on. I only plan to run the shield on long rides that include freeway stuff.
I will say with the Gangsters the shield really knocks down the parachute effect.
My main beef was head buffeting. The Klockwerks shield converted my bike from horrific to tolerable. With a stock HD shield, at 70 MPH, I felt like my head was being beat on both sides by a baseball bat. With the Klockwerks shield, I feel like my head is being "influenced" slightly by the wind.
I agree the stuff coming up from "below" is still significant, and can only be reduced with "fangs".
For my style of riding, the Klockwerks shield is a Godsend. I still say it was one of the best investments I ever made.
I've been considering the KW shield based on some of the reviews I have read most seem to really like them. I understand the flare at the top and it's purpose but what about the "hips"? Do they provide any benefit?
