I upgraded my headlight to one of those high performance xenon bulbs (the Led is awesome, but in my opinion, not 525.00 worth of awesome) so I went with just a better bulb, now, do they make those bulbs for my passing lights as well? The dealer says no, but the dude I spoke to has steered me wrong in the past and seems to only know as much as the HD parts book will tell him.

I would be curious about the passing lamps myself.
In the meantime, how do you like the xenon upgrade?
Thanks for the user name praise! lol, Huge dropkick murphys fan here.....
Harleyheaven, funny thing, I don't know yet, lol, since I put it in, it has been pouring rain and it doesn't appear like it is gonna stop here until Monday, and I plan of getting on her and trying to make up for two days of missed riding into one day!
The highest output bulb . . . that I could find . . . that is a direct plug-in to the stock Harley Wiring for my passing lamps is a P/N 896. This will give you a 38 Watt lamp. With both passing lamps and my Headlight I'm a pretty bright spot coming down the road.

I bought the set of 3 LED lights for my deluxe. I have the HD one on my Farboy LO. Honestly....no difference in light. They're both WAY WAY WAY better than the xenon lights. Only $385 with the discount code. Worth it.

Thanks man! I am going to look into this a little more.
I've been running 55 watt H3ST Sylvania SilverStar lamps in my passing lights for several years, with no problem. They fit, but are very tight, I think I had to trim the connector somehow to make them fit. I do remember that it was no problem at all, and I found out about this great mod by searching this forum. Do a search on "H3 passing lamps" or something like that, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. I did install a relay for the headlight circuit, to keep all that power from going through the bright/dim switch, and I highly recommend you do this even if you don't increase the wattage. You can find out how to do this by searching the forums also. The dimmer switch carries the load for the entire circuit (maybe not the passing lights, can't remember for sure), and WHEN, not if, your dimmer switch fails, you have to replace the entire horn/dimmer assembly, including the wires, all the way down the bars. You can also easily re-wire that passing light toggle switch so that they stay on all the time. I'm not sure of the legality of that, but I don't see why it would be a problem.
