I am just working through my exhaust options for my Slim and I am wondering if anyone is running this exhaust and if so what they think of it.
It isn't the sort of exhaust I normally go for but some reason I like it. I am the first to admit its not aligned to the nostalgic look of the Slim but I am already heading down a different track with it.
have that exhaust on my slim. really happy with it. has a nice deep tone and rumbles pretty good. does have a good bit of decel pop in it depending on how you have your bike tuned.
ive been very happy with it so far. i have it paired with a big sucker and a se super tuner pro and the power is very nice. right now im getting 84hp/98tq in a 4th gear pull and that was at the dealer dyno. im planning on taking it to an INDY here shortly because i think i can get a bit more performance out of it so we will see. and like i said before it does have a bit of decel pop in it but im sure that can be tuned out if you dont like that.
Not usually much for 2 into 1 pipes but that is one of the best looking I've seen. I knew Akrapovic was a big name in sport bike exhaust, but I didn't realize they made anything for Harley-Davidsons.
According to generally accepted theory, as well as best actual results, that exhaust doesn't have nearly enough primary tube length to produce best power. It's quite easy to fudge dyno results all over the place.
As an example of how dyno results can easily be tweaked, I once had a dyno operater hand me two printout sheets. He said,
"Here's the actual results for your engine, and here's the results to impress your buddies."
