150 on a 90 softail??
Hi, I did try the search but couldnt find a clear answer. Does anyone know if a 150 will fit on a stock 1990 softail? (rear) My buddy just got new wheels and tires but the rear is a 150. Thanks in advance. Mike
I have a '90 softail. I'm running dunlop harley tires front and rear. and I have a 150 rear tire. and it does fit. but there is so little clearance between the sidewall and the drive belt you'd almost need a feeler gauge to tell there is a gap.
Please post the results. I've a 130 on my '96 Springer, and would like to go wider, but it's so close to the belt now ... hard to believe a 150 would fit on my bike.
FYI - Likely going to rub when you roll the bike backwards. The 140 on my Sporty barely fits, and does rub when I back it out of the garage.

The 150 tire will definitely fit. However, the rim is most likely too narrow for that tire. I've been told people run the 16x3" wheel (what I'm assuming you have) with 150mm tires, but it can get really squishy.. I'm looking into a 16x4 wheel and a 150mm tire for my '02 Train (stock is 130mm) because i have the 16x3 with Metz ME880 150mm now and its noticeably soft in turns (and its really only a 140 based on my measurements so a 150mm would be softer).

Have a 150 dunlap on my'89 fxstc, very tight clearance on the belt side, had to space out pulley 3/16th so belt would clear with 1 1/2 belt, would be much better with 1 1/8th belt, can't space it out any more as pulley will hit swing arm. A late model swing arm would help also.
