I'm switching from a Roadking to a softail after several years of fun on the king.
I'm rather taken with the softail slim but not keen on that front fender, looks like a lot of crud, stones etc is going to be thrown at the frame, abs modulator, and engine.
My question is has anyone changed out that fender and has pictures they can share.
I'm just not sure what is going to look right.
I'm also looking for a two up seat that will look good on the bike.
After using my slim for a while, I had the same concern. It got validated after I got caught up in a downpour. I changed my front fender to the Harley street stalker fender. It is much better now. Huge improvement.
Interesting. Some folks have actually removed that fender entirely and went with just a lil fork brace. One cat in England like you, where I would think rain would be a big concern.
I've been riding my Slim almost every day for eight months now. Doesn't rain much here in L.A., but the stock fender has protected everything well. Crud, rocks, loose asphalt, and random crap does abound on the roads here.
Good luck. There are a few guys who have put bigger fenders on in addition to aforgetful. I'm sure they'll chime in if they check your thread title out.
