Wanting to put some apes on my heritage Springer but don't know where to start. Does anyone have any pics of there springer with apes so I can get an idea?
First, grab a friend to help you. You only have two hands.
Second, grab a broom.
Third, sit on your bike like you are riding, grasp the broomstick in both hands and hold it out like you are actually riding. I also suggest closing your eyes during this so you can "feel" where you want the bars. Your eyes will betray you if you look where you're putting your fists.
Fourth, once you find your desired location, have your friend measure the distance from the broom to the risers, being sure to measure to the center of the diameter of both broom and opening of riser. If not, you may have to add an inch.
This will give you a good starting point. When I did apes, I sincerely thought I wanted 16's. maybe 18's. Come to find out, the 14's are where I'm most comfortable. And, I like the look of 14's after owning them.
Go to the websites of ape makers. Wild1. Carlini, etc. look at their galleries. Also search here. There is a ape hanger thread with pics. I have 14" wild1 on 1.5" risers.

I have Carlini, Wild 1, and HCC on my bikes. All are quality apes. If I had a Springer, I would probably go with Evil Apes from Carlini. Check the pullback and width in addition to the height as you consider the alternatives. SJ Ron
I'm all for Carlinis cuz I have them on my deluxe. But for springers you have to pick apes with a narrow base that are made for springers. I believe Carlinis make springer specific apes. I have the Nash Pudgy gimps on my bobber with a springer front end. Beautiful apes in my opinion.
