Default Rush exhaust

So I added the Rush short slash exhaust to my 2010 Crssbones plus power commander & tuned up.. I am not impressed... they have 1.5" baffles... I'm after a little more horsepower.. if I pull the baffles and retune.. will that accomplish it or will running without the baffles lose horsepower..

you need back pressure to make HP, unless you engine has so much induction through either dislacement or forced induction that you can run OPEN exhaust

so with that said, if you pulled the baffles you probably lose

add a set of cams and retune

Thanks for choosing Rush! The 1.50" baffle is required for back pressure. We don't recommend removing them and performance will suffer. We recommend the crossover system or 2 into 1 for customers looking for large performance gains. Most shorts systems are designed for sound and appearance with performance limits due to the lack of back pressure from the short pipes.

With that being said we want happy customers with all of our systems. What was the hp before and after upgrades? What were you expecting to achieve?
I assume the tune is good and we can eliminate that from troubleshooting.

It could be just the nature of short systems but I would like to work with you to make sure the system is providing maximum performance increases. Please let me know any information that could assist, such as engine upgrades or high flow air filter.

1 have the Rush short pipes but the straight cut pipes, on my bones with a HF air intake and V&H fuel pack! I love love them but I wasn't necessarily looking for power. Now the sound, WOW, you can hear my bike a mile down the road!!! Sorry to change the subject the point is Rush is a great company!! Good luck

Just ordered my Rush 2-1 last week. Took a few days but they called my dealer and said my exhaust could not be shipped as they were out of the factory tips. They let me chose any tip I want and they will ship it out. Good customer service so far!

BP, Did U also install a HP A/C??.

When I did my Rush pipes, SERT, and SE A/C then dynoed back in 07, I gained about 5 and 5 on the sheet.

I've said many times in here that just doing a Stg1 will help U motor run better, smoother and Cooler, if tuned right, BUT U won't see or feel all that much in the seat of Ur pants.

For those who want to really feel it U have to add at least some Cams that meet Ur riding needs to really FEEL the difference.

When I re-wrapped my baffles couple yrs ago, while the baff's were out, I started her up just to hear what it would sound like,,,, Not good at all was my impression.

I do like the Rush Muffs and still have them on. 6ys and 42K now on them and even though I know I'd get a little better #'s with a good set of 2-1's, I still really like the sound of the 2''ers and when shined up they still look new.

Usually the only time open pipes do good is at top RPM's like Drag racing.. but will also hurt Ur TQ and HP in the Low - Mid - RPM range.
