Default Springer front fender question

I'm trying to help my friend find parts for his Softail Springer that got wrecked in a deer collision. I've found a front fender that says it fits '98 and up. His is an '03. I'd just like to make sure this will fit before purchasing.

Can anyone please advise?

Also if you happen to know what year fuel tank and left rear strut cover work it would be great to have that information to ease in the search.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

for the fuel tank..... If it's carbed. 00-06 softail tanks. You can use a fuel injected tank, but you need to get the cover kit for the FI hole.
If it's Fuel Injected. 01-06 Fuel injected softail tanks.

the strut cover... 00-06 softail.

I'm betting all springer softail front fenders will swap regardless of year.. But I'm not 100%

For FL Softail Springers
1997-2007 Front fender is all the same. I just checked to be sure.

59164-97

minus 04 of course, since there was no 04.

and on FX softail springers
1996-2006.

Softail Springer is FXSTS...

The part number above is for the Heritage Springer or FLSTS

Early Springers - FXSTS (1988-92) are different than the newer ones. Pretty sure the new one runs 1993 and up.

This one is a good price for after market:

OEM will fetch $100 used and big bucks for NOS.

J&P list this one as 1993-2006. Looks the same as the ebay one to me.

Here's an OEM FXSTS from a 2003 in Gun Metal Blue.
Wow $325.99, I guess they have gone up since they stopped making the Springer.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-100th...1c05c7&vxp=mtr

And 2004
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HD-HARLEY-20...cb9466&vxp=mtr

And 2005
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HD-HARLEY-20...cb9314&vxp=mtr

All look the same.

Awesome, many thanks. Now to see if the bid ends while I'm home so I can swoop in and snipe.

Question New fender question

I'm looking at fenders online and if anyone can answer this one.

There are 2 models of Springer for 2003

EFI FXSTSI

and

FXSTS

as far as front fenders are concerned are they the same? I'm not really sure what makes them different from each other.

FXSTSI = fuel injected

FXSTS = carb

Front fenders should be the same for each.
