So Im cruising down I-84 at 80mph about 30 miles outside Twin Falls and my front tires blows out. Bike handled amazing, I wasnt even sure it was flat at first, stayed upright, just got real shaky and rolled right over to the side. Now what to do.... Well, I have the Harley extended care package with roadside assist, Ill give them a call....lots of rings...finally get an answer, they tell me that the roadside assist is through HOG not them, ok, Im still on my first free year, call them. They take my information and and tel me they will get right back with the tow info. They call me back and tell me they cant find a wrecker to come get me??? (well its sunday so who knows) She is going to turn this over to her manager and get back with me. Meanwhile its 98degrees and im standing on the side of the road in my leathers. Thats when I remember I have roadside assist on my insurance as well, I call progressive, 5 minutes later they have a wrecker on the way and tell me its about 30 minutes out. When Harley finally calls back they found one, but its a two hour wait, I let them know its a big never mind. Big thumbs up to progressive, big thumbs down to Harley extended and HOG roadside assist.
Part 2)
Snake River Harley Davidson Twin Falls Idaho
Big Thumbs up!!!! They showed up to work monday morning with 4 bikes waiting and were slammed the whole time I was there, but they squeezed me in and got me out the door with only a 3 hour wait so I could finish my trip. Once again very helpfull and friendly shop.
Part 3) Have been dealing with Drew at HogPro to get me a new wheel up front, am going to dump the stock 80 and go with a 21x3 120. Still in the works, but since I had to just shell out for a new stock dunlop to get me home, I am going to have to get some miles on it just to feel right about switching it out, anyway, its pushed back a month or so now.
So its been a fun weekend and thought I would share some of the good with the bad as well.
That's a big thumbs up for Progressive! Don't bark about it to loud in here though. A lot of Progressive haters in here. I also use them for my bike insurance.
Thank you for sharing. Sounds like you had an interesting weekend... I have progressive on my truck and Foremost on my bike. Haven't had to call either one, but nice to know that if I need to call, they may in fact show up!
I can respect that TidBit1, not trying to change anyones mind, just relating my experience this weekend and give credit where it was due, to be honest I had planned to dump progressive once my year was up and get everything from my current car/house provider.... I am re-thinking that now though.
